So, per Yahoo! Widgets user hulmem’s suggestion, I’ve added a size preference to the CricketChirp widget, as well as adding a custom dock icon. (the cricket, of course)
Have updated this widget on the Widget Gallery as I have not heard further issues from it or heard additional information that would help determine the cause of errors.
